We're looking for a Senior Field Service Technician to join our team in Evansville, IN .

This is a hands-on field service role for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and rebuilding pumps and related equipment while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is a strong mechanic who is comfortable working independently, interacting with customers, and utilizing technology in the field. The position is primarily local with very limited overnight travel. The role is based on the Xylem Senior Field Service Technician position in Evansville.

What You'll Do

Troubleshoot & Repair Equipment

• Diagnose, inspect, repair, and maintain pumps and related equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and equipment servicing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in the field.
• Replace and repair pump components while ensuring equipment performance and reliability.
• Test repaired equipment to verify operational standards.

Field Service Support

• Travel to customer locations to perform service and maintenance activities.
• Support equipment startup, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Provide technical support and recommendations to customers.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation using computer systems and mobile devices.

Customer & Team Support

• Build strong relationships with customers through professional service.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure work is completed safely and efficiently at customer sites.

Schedule & Travel

• Monday through Friday
• Typical hours are 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
• Overtime available
• On-call rotation one week per month
• Limited overnight travel, typically once per quarter or less
• Local territory coverage with the majority of work completed during daytime hours

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience repairing pumps, rotating equipment, industrial equipment, or similar machinery.
• Comfortable working independently in a field service environment.
• Computer proficiency for service reporting, email, and documentation.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and work around industrial equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience servicing pumps, motors, or water/wastewater equipment.
• Diesel, industrial maintenance, or mechanical repair background.
• Prior field service experience.
• Customer-facing service experience.
• Technical school education or equivalent hands-on experience.

You're a hands-on mechanic who enjoys solving problems and fixing equipment. You take pride in delivering outstanding customer service, can work independently, and are comfortable using technology to document your work. You enjoy a mix of shop and field environments and appreciate having a predictable weekday schedule while still having opportunities for overtime.
