People & Finance Operations Manager

We’re looking for someone to keep Monarch’s people and financial operations running smoothly. You’ll make sure employees are paid, new hires are onboarded, vendors receive payments, and our records are accurate and organized. You’ll work closely with our accountant, tax advisers, and service providers to get the details right and follow things through.

HUMAN RESOURCES

• Run payroll smoothly and accurately through Gusto.

• Complete new-hire onboarding in Gusto, including I-9 verification.

• Coordinate timely delivery of employee W-2 forms.

• Manage employee expenses and reimbursements.

• Draft new-hire letters, ensure required documents and confidentiality and invention assignment agreements are signed, and maintain organized employee records.

• Complete employee offboarding paperwork.

• Research benefits plans for future consideration.

FINANCE

• Manage payments to recurring and one-time vendors, including consultants and advisers.

• Work with Monarch’s accountant to ensure transactions are accurately categorized for year-end financial reporting.

• Keep Carta and equity records up to date and manage the relationship with our equity platform provider.

• Work with our tax advisers to coordinate tax payments, process refunds, and keep registrations current.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing payroll, employee administration, and day-to-day financial operations.

• Strong attention to detail and a record of following work through to completion.

• Good judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee and financial information.

• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with employees, accountants, advisers, and vendors.

• Experience with Gusto and Carta is preferred.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

This is a part-time, fully remote role of approximately 10 hours per week. Candidates must be based in the United States.
